Chairschool was packed last night! I got to dance to a lot of odd songs, from classics to a few I really didn't expect to hear there (Nothing? Blue?) Lots of new faces there. Rain = good outdoors. Would have stayed longer if I didn't have to drive to Sterling, but didn't mind all that coz I got to see the shell. I think I did all my stupid dances last night: the boxing, the goth walk and dive, and even what's left of my 'naked on top of the bar' wiggle when I couldn't dig up anything else.

I'm lame - I bring earplugs. I'm really lame because I don't wear them. When you first show up in a club, you talk to a bazillion people and want to hear them. The music makes you talk loud, but it doesn't blast you away. Well, you can't talk well with ear plugs in so you leave them out. Slowly over the night, they inch up the music. Last night we realized we were shouting and we were in the back of the place. It was around them I wished I had ear plugs in, but was too embarrassed to be seen digging into my ears. That just looks gross.

Get the foam earplugs that are porous, cylindrical and white, and stay away from the wax earplugs, orange conical ones or the plastic reusable ones. The former filter the sound as much as protect you from it, so it's still pretty easy to carry on a conversation once you get used to it.

I would have hid you from view while you plugged your ears. I think that we should learn sign language. It would let you wear ear plugs all night and has the added bonus of making the new people really obvious so that we could be sure that we were tormenting only the new people.

Except for the really loud music before we left I thought it was a good night. Weird, but good.
