This week in politics

The republicans have a sex scandal in which no sex occurred - now that is the epitome of republicanism at work! I'm just disappointed that a star trek actress marries a republican - ew!? What is she, a Hilton cousin? Then again, she was the uber-efficient borg...in high heels.
Cheney says 'fuck yourself.' No one, including Cheney, apologizes. This is the same group that is forcing record fines for 'obscenity' on television. So, the FCC is running around with republicans at the helm making money while protecting those of us who might hear a conversation about a BOOB on the radio, but it's valid to tell someone to 'fuck yourself' on the floor of the senate. I suppose the real intent here is to make sure no one can talk about what DICKS these republican BOOBs are on the radio? You know what would be really cool? Fining the Washington Post for printing the profanity the VP said!

Date: 2004-06-28 06:28 am (UTC)DS9 was so neat as a concept - the first not-big-gunned star trek, where negotiation was the focus. They eventually gave up, getting big guns and a super ship when the populus just didn't make the leap.
The funny thing is it was blatantly pro-palestinian / terrorist. The bad guys were the big military guys, the good guys were terrorist bijorans. I doubt this would be allowed by the new world order today...
