Has anyone else noticed that organized religion only talks about not doing things? It seems the entire 'right' is trying to make people stop doing things. What do they DO? We know who they don't like, but who do they like? Is religion just about misery and suffering, experiencing it yourself, and creating it for others?

While under most circumstances, the choice issue is not directly related to gay legal issues, I draw your attention to a part of the following article:

"The Paulist Center attracts Catholics uncomfortable with some of the Vatican's orthodox teachings or who otherwise feel alienated from the Roman Catholic Church. The congregation includes gay couples, whose adopted children are baptized there, unlike in some other Boston parishes. In November, its leaders refused to read aloud during Mass from a letter opposing gay marriage, as requested by the Massachusetts bishops."
