(no subject)

In tinytown TX, where nothing is small, not the cars, ugly houses (but trailers are), or the stores - walmart is the dominant force. Walmart was scary, not for the usual 2am fat crowd you see on the internet, but for the big-bow Texas cheerleader teen covered in painty makeup (they are their own insane culture and it shows) to the very angry poor family, where all the boys were insecure and VERY ANGRY, plus a skinny poor you don't see in the city. They were drought poor.

Talked to a nice older woman on the plane into SHV, didn't want to but she was nice and grandmothery. I had work to do and couldn't catch half of what she said over the noise of the engines; smiled a lot.

Soon I begin witness prep, so all day I'll prepare for 30 minutes to 2 hours of what I do. Then when its over I'll return and re-prepare my script that I'll hopefully ignore tomorrow. Nervous and excited about my entirely inconsequential work.

This is the first time I took my own coffee and press on the road (I got a plastic travel press!) Results ok.

Sick of the fact fox is always on in the lobby - I know from experience if I change it the adherents will put it back lickity split.
