Teeny tiny update
Jul. 27th, 2014 06:44 amLooks like nothing moved for a week. My contractor groaned the city was killing him, something about permits/inspection or water line? But I went to the house and almost nothing changed except one big-to-me thing: The cinderblock wall has been taken down. Looks like there was nothing of note behind it.
Oh, and the electric panels are in: a breaker box on the main floor, and outside the basement door are 3 electric panels: 1 main into the house, and 2 more meters (I was told this is what you need - 1 for the house, and then separate meters come after the fact).
I finally got sidewalk chalk, but that didn't go as well as I was thinking. Me, who is a 1-person chorus of "think it through," didn't. I have no creativity or talent/ability to draw. Also, it turned out to be much harder to write on bricks in a way that was visible than I expected. I took some pics but it wasn't the big deal I expected. For instance I tried to draw a door on the covered up door - you can't even see it.
Some fun though: front steps say (or said, it just rained) "To be continued." Back bedroom got the bottle with "Red Rum" written on it.
Moving in seems years away, particularly with doctor visits and the job being so demanding right now.
