Looks like nothing moved for a week. My contractor groaned the city was killing him, something about permits/inspection or water line? But I went to the house and almost nothing changed except one big-to-me thing: The cinderblock wall has been taken down. Looks like there was nothing of note behind it.

Oh, and the electric panels are in: a breaker box on the main floor, and outside the basement door are 3 electric panels: 1 main into the house, and 2 more meters (I was told this is what you need - 1 for the house, and then separate meters come after the fact).

I finally got sidewalk chalk, but that didn't go as well as I was thinking. Me, who is a 1-person chorus of "think it through," didn't. I have no creativity or talent/ability to draw. Also, it turned out to be much harder to write on bricks in a way that was visible than I expected. I took some pics but it wasn't the big deal I expected. For instance I tried to draw a door on the covered up door - you can't even see it.

Some fun though: front steps say (or said, it just rained) "To be continued." Back bedroom got the bottle with "Red Rum" written on it.

Moving in seems years away, particularly with doctor visits and the job being so demanding right now.

I worked most of this weekend, well mostly I was on-call and I overall feel like I finally got rest. However,
spent hours Sat prepping a witness for a Monday deposition, getting an objection to the depo followed by an Order from the Judge overruling the objection, and drafting a settlement agreement on the same case while arguing over terms.

Stayed in and didn't even hit my club Sat.

More of that this Sun AM,
and got a ton of stupid things done - like finding out I had an extra batch of google stock I didn't even know about because I didn't factor in the stock split. I'm not sure if I'm happy to be that more liquidy or embarrassed I didn't know I had that. Then I hit the gym with my insane friend, and confirmed that I will never, ever, take time off again.

About my gym addiction - it's better than the alternative. All my pretty callouses were flaking after only a week of not-gym time. My back started to hurt - and if you didn't notice, I went fucking crazy. I made a t-shirt that says (f/b) Bacardi: cheaper than prozak. It's more true that the endorphins from working out keep me less symptomatic. But hitting the gym today - my body was stupid. I had trouble with form, I was weak, and I got all sorts of pings and aches for no good reason. I managed the workout but it seems the down week low weight work isn't something to blow off. Plus, the pain from my gym time sucked less than an aching back. So, hey working out sucks less than not working out. Good to know!

Returning from the gym, we swapped more settlement drafts & terms. I returned to work on the document; while working I got a call from KS. It was my witness from the deposition I set up for Monday - he was in the hospital! So the depo was off - but being another witness, who was coming out of retirement to testify just because he wanted to get the truth into the record (I call it patriotism, to country, job, or truth or all I don't know). He said well gosh, while he had surgery that meant the scheduled surgery which would prevent him attending the hearing, the reason for the depo, might be postponed - so he said if he could he'd attend the hearing! I can't make this stuff up.

But I feel less silly being a gov worker working the weekend.
