Met with Scott and went over the proposal, decided to go with it though I'm rounding up and considering it 200k. Also agreed that my shortened kitchen created other problems, so am still moving stuff around a bit. Hung out in my home from about 6am until 3pm, airing it out in the cool morning before closing all the windows and blinds as the temperature rose. I stand in the hallway by the kitchen a lot to design or masturbate myself - whatever it's called - visualizing where things will be.
My stamina is coming up in the gym - we went from bbb (5 sets of 10 after strength work) to what might be best called interval training, though suicide would also cover it.
I was outside this morning when Jorge started a conversation with me about the plants, my wall, and plumbing work. From that he weeded the tree sprouts with me, and showed me a plant right by my stairs that he says "is from the bible." It looks familiar but I couldn't figure out what it was (the name he used rolled an r). He then walked me down to a tree-island, you know - where all the dogs pee - and showed me where he has planted mint. The mint smelled divine - I rubbed a leaf for the smell, he pulled the top off of one and gave it to me. I washed it in my sink and chewed the leaves.
Walked to Coupe for lunch, 'twas good and wow arty hipster types just hanging out. More cute preppie gay guys than I could waggle a stereotype at.
Scott and I were on the porch when an older black man across the street jumped off his porch and started hollerin' at a car that drove down our street; Scott pointed out the driver had just tossed a bag from fast food out his window while driving. The man asked "Did you see that! Not here! Not this street!" and I agreed. I also smiled and picked up the trash - on top of all else it was street sweeping day and they had JUST cleaned up. I smiled and agreed with my neighbor, and it occurs to me being a new white guy in an old mixed neighborhood it might be a positive start that I first "met" him picking up trash from the street (like I met my other neighbor shoveling and pushing his car in the snow).
I think because I'm spending so much money I am going to rent a bedroom out in my space too - it'll be with house priv, worth more than a grand monthly, possibly a lot more, situated between a master bath and another full bath (I may use the small back room as an office.
I am thinking more strongly of pushing the ceiling of the master up near the roof to get the light from the "doghouse windows." Downside will be the setting sun's heat.
I'm a'gonna do it. All of it. All of its; all of 'ems. I'm a doin 'em.
