Post explore and repair trip 1
Jan. 26th, 2014 06:58 pmI'm too tired to write much, though most of the tired is party-club-gym.
1. Had intro to house parties, was nice. People don't share my opinion of the place, and/or they have manners or something I don't understand.
2. Pulled the living room floors and found linoleum tiles underneath, dug under them and am very nervous as they broke apart easily. Asbestos would be thousands to remove to code. On the other hand, my little destructor tool worked well. Underneath that junk was...parquet wood floors. Not sure there is any point to refinishing wood floors if it's just parquet.
3. V came over and showed me many tips on plumbing, has me less nervous about the "leaking" hot water heater, and a battle plan to fix/maintain it and some general watery stuff.
4. V also bled my radiators and very-educated me about a lot of boiler stuff. In short time she had all the things hot to the touch up to the top! I'd stay there now if there was internet access.
5. I found extra tiles in the back yard under the porch; same variation as what is in the kitchen. Also, ice maker seems to work.
6. Back gate does not appear to lock though I definitely have the key.
Oh, and it may be haunted. I was alone in there in the dark and got a feeling I haven't had since I was a kid - that someone/thing was behind me in the dark where I knew nothing was. The hair rose on my neck and all that - I felt like a kid again notinagoodway. I mean I had a lot less fear and poked it with a stick, argued and sort of was stunned with myself that I could feel that way. I feel like I just learned something. But I'm calling my place haunted - it's 100 years old, who knows.
Unrelated - been a fed emp for 19 years.
