I'm actually annoyed that the gay-les-trans-id-love the shoes community is so egotistical with their individual identifications ("Don't you dare fucking lump me in with gay men") that trying to refer to the group or any sub-group is a 20-minute ordeal in what 20 letter long acronym might apply.

So the Senate may finally pass anti-discrimination on the basis of gender & sex stuff law. This puts me in an awkward position: I am well aware that there is discrimination on all these bases, but my career is fighting off frivolous discrimination claims. I swim upstream in a daily deluge of shysters and wolf-criers, see their lack of evidence, and see that when "findings of discrimination" are identified it's never actual discrimination, it's more like
"You threw out those promotion notes from 2004, so that's a violation of title VII."
"Although the fired employee made threats against muslims, it was done off the clock so the charge is not sustained; further because the ex-employee filed an eeo complaint, the overturned charge is now a discrimination finding."

So I'm the first to say the eeo process - as applied to the fed sector - is broken. While it's my bread and butter, we'd all be in a better world if there was not an entire dept in each fed agency that helped people file eeo complaints for free, conduct full investigations for those complainants at taxpayer expense, and a full side-process of administrative hearings prior to filing in civil court like anyone who works for a private employer.

However, so long as there is a title VII, and so long as these processes are in place, it absolutely makes sense to have gay-tran-les-curious-works out a lot identified folks have those same protections. Plus, it'd be a lot easier for me to file than trying to drop the latino card!
