May. 24th, 2010 08:59 pmAnother day, another hearing until almost 8 at night. Yeesh.
The AJ is going to issue a bench decision (oddly, later and in writing). In the words of Andre the Giant in Princess Bride: "I hope we win."
I'm tired but happy. I think I won the war, but I won a LOT of battles today. LOTS. Against an attorney. Heh.
Edit, ahem my favorite battle:
I had a witness "not recognize" something because the investigator printed it in a different font that she saw it before, or "It didn't have the boxes." I had a hard time not screaming YOU STUPID CUNT all day, egads. I got the AJ ruling against me, so a date I wanted read out of there wasn't because he wouldn't let me access the record. Grr. BUT later the other side was trying to read a question that was in that same section, but they - knowing I wanted something from there - avoided that section like the plague. Thinking they later forgot, in another line of questioning I "helped" by directing them to the question in the section I wanted read. They bought it, and did their line of questioning in "my" section. Well, then I turned around on cross and had the guy pull the section THEY asked questions about and had the date brought in. That date wiped out a huge argument they made throughout the proceedings, and could have looked up at any time. Tee hee! Oh I was happys about that.
Boring lawyerly talks.
