Went to the doc today about my stupid elbow - MRI revealed a tear on the top but not the bottom where the original issue was. Was cleared to lift again, but if today's cort shot doesn't work the only options are: 1) don't lift weights or do things that hurt it, 2) lift slow and it better get better on its own, or 3) surgery, relatively minor but to make a small incision and adhere the tendons to the bone the right way again. Unlike last time, the cort shot hurt like living hell today but only for a few hours. But...wow that hurt.

Listening may help you be not crazy. Spent today prepping for a hearing next week with a wack-job complainant. I actually feel for him - talked to someone who noted he was a foreign orphan, or rather he grew up in an orphanage and only found out he had relatives when his sister showed up, id'd herself, explained his parents were killed in the carnage and the siblings weren't able to care for him so they put him there, and all they could do/afford was this ticket to the US of A. He's done well for himself here economically, but he's batshit insane and unhappy. He's claiming discrimination but I don't think he believes it - he thinks they persecute him because he won't take instructions from a very top-oriented organization. I think he'd do ok if he would only listen to the people around him - but he cant hardly answer a question because he's so ready to tell you his conclusions he can't listen. He also can't seem to get around the idea that a conclusory statement is not evidence. It is discrimination because it is. How do I know? Because I am brown not-from-US person and it is not right. They are all stupid and weak. I guess I am too because he won't listen to me either.
There is a theme here. SO about blowing shit up and violence, of which I am becoming less of a fan:
I note that the news has had two stories of attempted mass murder lately:
Social invalid professor kills members of tenure panel that was ready to sack her, written reports submitted by students complained of her social ineptitude and problems in the classroom
Redneck white guy has domestic dispute, sets fire to house, and suicide bombs IRS rented building in Texas like Tim McVeigh #2.
Here a man bulldozes his house to "send a message" because the IRS was posting a lien when he owed back-taxes on his business. Fool was living like a king, probably on gov contracts, cheating the taxpayers/US of A, then feels mad that someone is going to make him pay his bills. What does he do? Destroys the property to destroy the value and ensure nobody ever is paid what he owes. Damn bank for loaning that man money - damn them all to hell!
Terrorists overseas, the bad guys. Terrorists here, rednecks who are a little excited. They should totally be profiling in airports -middle-eastern men rednecks who subscribe to angry rhetoric, FOX news, right wing radio, pro-life pro-gun groups...
On the other hand, I'm a lonely tiny geek myself with delusions of grandeur. I feel some understanding of why someone would lash out at society - hell I want to shoot at people who flick cigarettes out of their car windows. Sure, it's not worth it, but...they do wrong and get away with it, they harm others and don't care, and they should be eliminated since they can't be controlled. On the other hand, nobody wants to be controlled - especially over little things.
It's a curious world where technology allows anyone who feels disenfranchised to lash out - this was at least part of the design of the US to prevent abuse of power. The drawback is that some people are just genuinely wrong - and rather than find the answer they choose instead to cause harm to as many as they can, validating their failure with their spectacular death.
