I thought I might work late today - turns out it is mandatory after all. Spent this AM
1. catching up on emails because the IT/Security people cut off our access to email as a "security risk." They have also now cut off mail forwarding, and threatened that using unlocked storage devices may violate policy. Friggin military and DHS don't use security at that level, and we're just agriculture for crying out loud. Oh, and it's not all USDA, just our stupid group.
2. Did travel crap, had to get help as it's a mess (or I'm dim).
3. Tackled the residual issues related to cases from October in which our payroll etc. people are not responsive to my requests. As of today, emailing top mgt and going with threats and force where reminders and phone calls in a friendly voice failed to achieve anything. I may be liable for the delays in processing the requests because I did not use force earlier.
4. WORST I have to stay tonight because this 1 of 2 new cases has discovery due _today_ because it's been 3 weeks since it was issued - it appears it was in our office, but someone failed to a) open it or b) assign it, c) it isn't date stamped so if it was delayed we can't prove that either, and d) even using the 5-day mailbox rule a submission is due today.

I hope to not work in the office tomorrow during the snow.

However, the weekend was WONDERFUL!
1. SPELLBOUND WAS PACKED AND A BLAST!!! Dragged Janna around and introduced her to everyone I could lay my meat-paws on, drank some and bought others drinks, made Kirstin squeal for minutes, and just had a crazy good time until about 3am. Have still not recovered fully.
2. Skipped the superbowl to attend poetry slam with aforementioned Janna. Enjoyed the poetry though felt bad when asked to judge - I'm often the lowest scorer. Had an Elvis-looking guy do his thing and he was brilliant (and vulgar to levels that even impressed me). Bought his book.
3. Watched an opisode of Dr. Who (think comfort food).
4. Watched the last 2 minutes of the game anyway.

Today I got an email that somebody was wearing my pants, and that's the happiest thing that has happened to me today.
