Jan. 17th, 2008 07:50 am Am I black enough for you? As linked by everyone, even blacker black material created. So what - until it's in clothing I'm not interested.
Anyone else noticed more gyms with rooms filled with black walls and ultraviolet lights? The gym-disco crossover is nearly complete.
I worked my ass off on a case I'm giving away. I am tempted to note I wasted a full 3 days of productivity, but I'm really happy I'm giving a man with 22 years of service his job back. Of course they gave the case to me, and despite his actions he immediately admitted everything, and noted that his wife and a mutual friend had gone to the bahamas and when they returned his wife announced she'd decided to leave him for the "friend." True to form, she set up her next while she was with him, oh and they have 3 kids. They gave this case to the right guy - talk about mitigating circumstances. I found some serious problems with the case and discussed them with my supervisors - I was good on the politics, simply noting the problems and trying to minimize the other branches' multiple serious failings in the processing of this case. I received quick authorization to make a settlement offer which included returning the fella to work. I actually lose - I continue my settlement-happy reputation even though the decisions was technically made above me (oh and most staff encouraged mitigating before the guy was term'd), I lose more trips across the country, and again all that work I did goes *poof* I also feel good that I did the right thing.
I've discovered that while my ASUS P4T533-C MB takes pc800, it also does pc1066. I double-checked my chips and found I'm holding 2 Kingston KVR1066x16-8/256 (I hardly know what that means). So I was about to upgrade to the wrong chips and possibly slow my machine down. The damn chips go from $100-300 so upgrading my RAM is about the same cost as getting a new low-end machine. Guess what I'm going to do then? Sigh...the upgrade RAM on the laptop was cheap and had great results.
Last night a new guy in my conditioning class bragged that his girlfriend was covered with tattoos and piercings. Bragged. He has his freak-cred girlfriend, you know, the one with the ink and piercings. He's cool. So is she.
