More boring house stuff.

PAINTING TOMORROW, moving 1 week from tomorrow.

So Dad is better than expected - he's home, and it turns out he knew this outcome was a possibility, only he chose not to share it. Why make anyone worry? Amazing how many things I have in common with my family. "No, I'm fine really..." I mocked him, as his lungs are screwed up and he pauses to talk on slow breaths. I told him he sounded like a post-horsey-jump Christopher Reeve. "We're all fine here, nothing to worry about."

Painting tomorrow, which means cleaning today. First - homework. At home. Then I have to finish scrubbing the bathroom, since there may be people over and ya know...biology. The kitchen should be done, and I might as well do the floors before they get trompled.

A tired still-recovering-sick dhairya came with me and colinmac to Ikea (I'm getting the hang of these href thingys) to shop for rugs and whatnot. It seems shopping in Ikea with me is aggravating. "Oh look! Hey! Neat! Oh wow, one of those! What is that, oh shiny!" Great conclusion from the trip is the mirror has to go. I have a 50lb thick mirror that is about 4x5' which I always wanted to hang, but seems to large to stick on teh wall w/o destroying the wall. For $20 I can get the same mirror coverage in 4 separate mirrors. Duh. Anyone want a giant mirror?

I also got rugs: 2 black VINDE rugs, one for the living room and another for the small bedroom. I really wanted a cream one for the bedroom but it won't match the comforter. Perhaps I ditch the comforter for something black or gray? Tried to get a giant HELLUM for the bedroom but they are out of large. I was actually disappointed in the selection and quality of hte Ikea rugs. Also snagged cheap drawer dividers, puzzle-shaped ice cube trays, and some neutral curtains for the bedroom all for next to nothing. They lacked runners of any type worth seeing, so I'll have to scan for those at BBB or something.

Fell in love with the look and feel of a FIXHULT sofa for $500, but was disappointed to find it is leather and pleather mixed...I loved the feel and price, but try to avoid buying leather (when it said leather/artificial I hoped it meant fake was an option). May get it anyway,
