I just got the announcement, long expected, that we have drug testing in my group now. Anyone who tests positive for illegal drug use will be given a chance to complete Employee Assistance Program (EAP) rehab to quit. Failure to enter or complete the program results in mandatory termination.

I don't do drugs, try to avoid legal drugs, but I loathe these laws that regulate what I do to my body on my time. I have to wear a seatbelt too - I want to, but I hate the law that forces me. Why not make laws that I can't drink, have cheeseburgers or ice-cream, and force my attendance in state-sponsored fitness classes? Why not throw in mandatory religion (of my choice, of course) and education? Isn't that good for both me and the body of the country?

I'm watching everyone slow down for speed traps, and noting that I'm not exposed to people that think the speed limit is reasonable. Why does this country keep making laws that the population doesn't believe in, and successfully enforcing them?

Soon I'll rant about the federal deficit. Honestly, it's large enough that leaving the country to avoid the next 50 years is not an unreasonable thing to explore. I'm not getting the benefits of this credit spending, I'm fiscally responsible, and I don't want to pay these yahoos' credit bills.

I need a place where they play these songs and I can dance to them. All of SE is going to be closed soon. Gay clubs are too crowded, and they do that stupid "Play nothing to dance to until midnight, when everyone leaps to the floor so you can't dance - you can only wiggle" elitist bullshit. Dancing at black cat or DC9 sucks.
