Sep. 28th, 2004 08:05 amFound bouncy dance music was hard to dance to as I really want to play, so I switched over to ambient electronic music. Now I want to spend 4 days in bed chewing on someone to ambient electronic music.

Chris said she think I'm getting sucked in (to the law profession). It wouldn't be the first time I got sucked into career thingys. When I first worked for labor, I planned my life on retiring as a GS-11. Simple, modest goals. The 12 came by accident, then all my peers passed by me in careers and I got insecure, so I fought for my GS-13. That was a horrible mistake, 2.5 years of suckage as I was a low-level manager of the equivalent of the bad news bears. Warning - never work for insecure people.
Now I have a job I love, but I make myself miserable in school. I think I have passed the hump in school, the writing class is under control for the semester (I front-load), and next semester is reportedly easier. Still, while I'm comfortable financially I get the bug when I know I could make more...like double or triple more w/o going nuts in a big firm. 150k is not unreasonable for middle-ground hours. Is it growth and goal-setting, or idiotic comparison hunting? I have 2.5 years to think about it...(not really, you have to set up jobs before graduating)
I read an article that explained that the amount of slow vs. fast twitch muscle you have is set genetically and speed can barely be improved regardless of training. In other words, you're either born to fight or not.
