Columbus day
Oct. 13th, 2003 01:14 pmAs a Latino, I would like to thank everyone who took the time today to celebrate this white mofo who came to a populated land, and raped & killed everyone he met. He was a very successful pirate, and he & his followers damned entire nations to extinction. I'm thrilled that I have a day off from work to celebrate.
Then again I'm pretty pale. I might be more pirate than native.
For all of you at work today, slaving away while I sit at home...and for those of you who support my salary which so far exceeds your own - happyHitler Columbus day!
EDIT: Ok the Hitler thing was kind of vague. Whenever I mention Columbus day I bring up the pirate background - sanctioned pirates were of course called explorers. I also say "Hey, if I got 8 hours off for Hitler day I'd bust on the logic - but you know damn well I'd take the leave." 8 hours paid is good for me regardless of the reasoning behind it.
