I'm still stuck on zombies. [profile] oontzgirl got me on a good roll with the zombie movie trailer (hurry up March!) which vagulely makes me think of 28 days. I like the current world going awry. I always have the little internal argument of 'but what even powers the meat to move' which was overcome in 28 days (they're people that drink soda).

Daddy!

I've been thinking about this for a day now and told two other people, so I'll just quote Michelle:
"Zombies are so cool. And creepy...Zombies aren't full of themselves. They don't dress up in black and write bad poetry about how sad they are. People making up for being unpopular in high school RARELY put on zombie makeup and tell everyone they're zombies and go to zombie bars to eat their friends skin. They don't inspire people with too much leather garb to go on and on about "gaia". They just shuffle around and hunger for sweet sweet brains. And that kind of classic simplicity will never go out of style."

I think I really get off on the destruction of the world as we know it. I find something appealing about having all the technology of the modern world and none of the people. The problems are perishing food, medical care, lack of utilities, and factories/power plants blowing up etc. Oh, and zombies.

Now do you hide from zombies by psyching them out in graveyards, or do they just wander aimlessly guided only by the smell of your live brains.

Anything that keeps me out of the line of fire. If you kill yourself do you avoid the zombies? Can you like kill yourself while heading towards a fire to destroy the body? Like light the gasoline and pull the trigger?

spicy!

According to http://kevan.org/proce55ing/zombies/:

Zombies are grey, move very slowly and change direction randomly and frequently unless they can see something moving in front of them, in which case they start walking towards it. After a while they get bored and wander randomly again.

If a zombie finds a human directly in front of it, it infects them; the human immediately becomes a zombie.

Humans are pink and run five times as fast as zombies, occasionally changing direction at random. If they see a zombie directly in front of them, they turn around and panic.

Panicked humans are bright pink and run twice as fast as other humans. If a human sees another panicked human, it starts panicking as well.

It's been changed, though, at http://zombies.insertdisc.com/mattcordes/ :

Zombies are green, move very slowly and change direction randomly and frequently unless they can see something moving in front of them, in which case they start walking towards it. After a while they get bored and wander randomly again.

If a zombie finds a human directly in front of it, it tries to kill them. They will succeed, unless the human population is low. In that case, there is a chance the human will expect the zombie, and have a chance to attack first!

Dead Humans are red and will either die peacefully or become a zombie. Humans destined to permenantly expire will simply fade out, while humans slowly transforming into zombies will change color to green and becomes a full-fleged zombie when it finishes.

Humans are pink and run about twice as fast as zombies, occasionally changing direction at random. If they see a zombie directly in front of them, they make a "fight or flight" decision.

If they fight, there's a 50/50 shot of them killing the zombie, otherwise they do not harm the zombie (and the zombie will most likely infect them next turn). Dead zombies are shown as red pixels. As the remaining human population grows smaller, their odds of killing a zombie increase (up to 90%). If the human chooses flight, they become "panicked".

Humans cannot fight if they are panicked.

Panicked humans are bright pink and run twice as fast as other humans. If a human sees another panicked human, it starts panicking as well.

with http://www.hardcorepawn.com/zombie3/, you get to nuke the zombies back, but it's VERY HARD unless you catch them early. Which makes me fear the CDC's quarantine effords (cf. conversation with [livejournal.com profile] mcoletti)

I love the board game Zombies, you have to fight your way through a town to a helicopter and each turn puts another piece of town and zombies on the board...
I think it came from Hot Topic, I gotta find another one of those.

You may enjoy the Reverend Jon's recent comments on zombies. Unless you hate him for being shorter than you, in which case maybe not.

That was most fucking cool.

Why would I be prejudiced based on height? I am, but it's a prej based on a low center of balance preference. Weebles wobble. No fall down. Like Zombies. Or terrorists.

I've done restaurant work and I think the zombie comparison is fair.
