I sure post a lot for someone that has no spare time!
I just called someone who I fought for. As much as I joke about the fact that "I fire people for a living" I fight on both sides, for and against employees. In this case, the boss was a cretin and the employee had problems that were beyond her control. It didn't look good at first, but I was able to steer this termination (which I proposed, though I opposed the motion) to our accommodations people. They rendered their decision that the employee in question qualified as disabled, and that her request to postpone action based on expected Dr's appts. was reasonable - granted.
I am rescinding my proposal, and called the person to let them know ahead of time. Sure I get a kick out of punishing 'the bad guys,' but I like helping 'the good guys' too.
