Vinyl Party!!!

The VINYL PARTY is happening! Mark your social calendar: 12/19 (Friday) will be the day. Theme - VINYL! This means vinyl records, a victrola (old manual record player, cerca 1920s), and vinyl clothing.
All are very optional - I will not be wearing vinyl, but I will be playing vinyl. People are welcome to show up in vinyl, or not, bring records, or not...the real focus is just on people. I thought vinyl would be a fun theme and my LP collection ranges from Black Sabbath to Shannon, which should be entertaining on its own. Feel free to bring your own favorite good, awful, cheesy, culturally distinct, or just plain bizarre records! No CDs or DVDs will be accepted! Try to minimize album side long songs, and neither the drum solo from In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida nor any YES keyborard solos will be played!
Special note: I will be playing the Victrola at some point. (http://www.victor-victrola.com/FLOOR.jpg)
Invited: Everyone is invited! I don't have everyone's email and not everyone is on LJ, so please help me spread the word. Yes you may bring a friend / lover / chia-pet. Please leave grudges, drama, anger, and bad attitudes behind. Anyone rude will be bar-b-qued unless I find them damn amusing. No need to RSVP.
Where?: (removed)
Please come! Feel free to bring: records or old videos (VHS) if you want, or just show up!
Note: vcr is having communication problems with the TV, so video may or may not happen.
WARNING - I will be a shitty host, that is to say really busy. My intention is to do most or all of the vinyl playing, and I'm one of those wusses that only handles the outside edge of the record. This means the number of times I start conversations, prepare drinks, and introduce people is greatly reduced! I'll probably be more of an entertaining host than a hosting host.
There will be drinks! Please try to drink responsibly OR have a ride home, but in case of [hic] cabs will be called or emergency crash space will be created - but keep in mind it is just a condo. The host does not guarantee his own sobriety, hence I am not to be relied on for safe transport [hic]
Drink issues:
No need to bring a thing - here's what I have:
Bicardi - light, limon, O, Kahlua, Grand Marnier, Cointreau, Chambord, Sky, Stoli, Triple Sec, weird martini stuff someone bought me that I don't touch, peppermint schnapps, mixers like soda.
BEER: I don't bother with beer - many people drink it and parties tend to generate more beer than consume so I don't supply beer - I provide shelf space. Feel free to take home leftovers!
Some of the LPs in question:
Classicrockish: King Crimson, Crack the Sky, Doobie Brothers, ZZ Top, Blue Oyster Cult, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rush, Yes, War of the Worlds, Back Organ favorites
Dance: Herbie Hancock, Soho, Boogie Boys, Madonna, DNA, DeeLite, The Time, Dazz Band, Cameo, Grace fucking Jones, Shannon, Whodini
Alternative to what?: Berlin, Big Audio Dynamite, Dead or Alive, The Cars, Devo, English Beat, Front 242, Debbie Harry, Billy Idol, Ministry, Nitzer Ebb, Police, Oingo Boingo, Psychedelic Furs, Pop Will Eat Itself, Power Station, Sioxse, Sisters of Mercy, Skinny Puppy (lots), The the, The Wonder Stuff, The Vapors, Vissage, Soft Cell, Spear of Destiny, Tears 4 fears, Timelords, Tom Tom Club, Trans X, Frank Tovey, U2, UB40, Tom Waits, Wire...and of course the soundtrack to the movie REPOMAN
45s: Art of Noise, Fat boys, Corey Hart, Nick Lowe, Ray Parker, The Skids, Timex Social Club
Metal: AC/DC, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Kiss, Accept, Twisted Sister, Ratt, Judas Priest, Dio, Iron Maiden, Van Halen (pre-1984), Scorpians, Zebra, Motorhead, Motley Crue
