That was scary - snow outside, the vcr shorting out the tv, half the cable channels out of commission, the other half running on about Iraq (so what), and then DSL went down. What next, no phone? What am I supposed to do, read?

I got my hair cut yesterday - and came up with brilliant idea of having my face waxed at the same time so I wouldn't have to shave on vacation. It seemed like an idea, and someone once told me wax is not as bad as tweezing. It didn't hurt much, but my face did not like it. It is retaliating. Red skin, scabs, and a lovely assortment of whiteheads now greet me in the mirror. Mental note - shaving better than waxing.

I now have a deepthroat icon - hope it's work-safe.

Yep, I've had to give up waxing except for legs and eyebrows. Too harsh on my skin. Did you ever look into the laser thing?

Since electrolysis didn't work I'm highly skeptical of the laser thing. I'm also not all that hairy so I may just deal with it.

Well...if you get that bored you can always come over. I have crayons...and paper...lol. And two tvs with vcr/dvd combos.

Waxing is tough. I get parts of my face waxed...you shouldn't have SCABS though. Go to Elizabeth Arden in Pentagon Row...ask for Yogitha. She is good. You'll always get red until your face is accustomed to it. but the redness should go away after a few hours. It shouldn't be red for a few days (and yes...had my chin done--those random hairs Greek women get there are annoying...and it was red the first time for a few hours). You shouldn't be breaking out into whiteheads either.

Where did you go to get waxed honey? I've broken into hives before from dirty wax/too hot wax. On occasion I'll get bumps that last a day or two (benzoyl peroxide clears'em up in a few days). Just don't exfoliate for a few days after. Let your skin heal...and moisturize ;)

I long for the days when people had to worry about the Mongols overrunning Constantinople, the black plague and where to get spices from the East.

This is just silly, it's hair, people.

Hair.

I have wussed out of going outside except for one gym trip today (to take place tonight). I'm not going to do the wax thing again - it was just a whim. This same reaction happened the first treatment through electrolysis.

I had the wax done at the same time I had my hair cut, in the same place. I am alternating with cleansers and really harsh plain ol rubbing alcohol. I am keeping it moisturized. It doesn't really hurt and it's not a big deal.

I'm still kind of moody, and spending time alone until I'm back in check. The face was just the icing on the cake (almost literally)

I've had reactions to waxings...well sort of have broken out in hives before...that one seems odd though. I suppose you just have very sensitive skin.

Understandable re: time alone...you've been slaving away at school and are probably zapped!!

I'm staying in. The new Battlestar Galactica series is at 7 pm. Gonna watch that. :)
