I’m sorry, but someone I don’t know very well died. This guy was an attorney with the government, active in the community, and a closet cross-dresser. He took his ‘secret’ with him to the grave. I found out from his former neighbors - a couple of totally hot boy-body-builders, and after they mentioned it I saw him in full gear a few times myself. It was odd - he wasn’t in shape, and didn’t really maintain his appearance as a male. As a female, he was very put-together with good attention to detail.

I never addressed his cross-dressing. I did mention the gay issue in board meetings, and even joked about my own cross-dressing ways. He never said a word, and I never pressed the issue. I thought about saying something when I saw him in gear, but I was worried that he wouldn’t want to be ‘found out.’

I know people who still are in various stages of closet, some from work, others from family, a rare few from different groups of friends. I hope that each person becomes more confident and comfortable with all their aspects before they end up like he did. He was a nice, smart, funny man - and to the best of my knowledge he died very alone.

I just ran into his brother and sister cleaning up his apartment. They described it as ‘cluttered.’ I told them it was a great loss.

Bummer. Sorry to hear. Now, you don't say how he died. He might not have been so unhappy with his life.
