Oct. 8th, 2003 07:37 amI would like to congratulate CA for electing another uneducated actor to a serious political office. Perhaps Canada isn't all that cold, perhaps teeth in the UK really aren't all that bad. I'm thinking of listening to the redneck ballad of 'Well if youz don like it, den gits the fawk out.' I don't even live in CA, but that is how Reagan happened.
Americans are more comfortable being led by someone stupid. I have no other explanation ... our insecurity is that vast? Or do we feel so secure in our people-proof systems that we don't care who sits in the chair?
Next issue, the phone:
There was a big stir in the news when it was revealed that the judge in the telemarketing do-not-call list may have been on that list himself. First off, it seems that number was in fact his office number - the story was probably faked. HOWEVER, if he was in fact on the list by his own initiative...the supposedly contradictory information is quite likely under the law.
The law is designed so that whether you agree with it or not, you have to abide by it even when it is you that is enforcing that law. The judge might well think that a telemarketer is what you scrape off the bottom of your shoe, but agree that the law does not allow the telemarketer-fuck-off list. Black judges can protect the KKKs right to free speech. That's just how things work.
To expect judges to rule with their hearts is to beg for bias. I don't want old white guys able to determine how to interpret the rules, do you?

I don't want old white guys able to determine how to interpret the rules, do you?
Because they're evil by nature, right?
Speaking as a future old white guy,
