I went after work and met the workers - there is little left. I'm SO HAPPY I did this, because as I see the meh joists I am thrilled that with it all in the open it can all be fixed from board and brick 1.

Texted the contractor who suggested I go to a radiator/tub/door/fixture restoration place near Hyattsville. Hells yesses!

#2 - not 100% sure but pretty confident that's the remnants of an old indoor gas light fixture. Neat.

Wow. Neat and kind of scary, but I'm happy for you! Are you going to leave any of the brick exposed?

I want to but almost certainly not - you can hear the neighbors really bad through it (how - I have no idea). So I don't hear them, so they don't hear me, and in the long-term interest of a rental property where neither tenants or neighbors are pissed, I'm probably walling in with sound insulation.

That sucks! Could you leave the brick in the master front wall at least? that one is more isolated distance wise than the rest...
