Floor plan 5-3-14 main

I'm not sure how this picture option is working.

Notes about ze plan, ze plan

1. Restoring 3rd (middle) window in master bedroom (top floor)
2. Move powder away from din/kit! As plumbing is complete gut and all ceilings coming out anyway, plus most if not all walls, no reason to keep bathroom in existing location on main floor. Downsides: harder to vent, no window
3. Utility room on main floor - moved powder room opens option to have utility room, hvac, closet #2, on main floor
4. Contractor is comfortable with tankless water heater and options such as combining with hvac

If you want yet another tool to consume your time help visualize your options with I can recommend SweetHome3D ( http://www.sweethome3d.com/ ). C and I have been using it a bit to sketch out our own remodelling ideas.

I might - I have tried many programs that people tell me are ez to learn, and I have failed to understand any of them. Next on the list is formerly-google sketch.

I settled on it because it met my primary criteria at the time:

a) runs on my linux desktop
b) was free
c) was available to me instantly when I first got the motivation to look at said software.

Didn't say it was easy, but between the popup help and experimentation the only thing I recall having to look at documentation for was how to import furniture and texture catalogs.

Bottom line - I feel I got infinitely more than my money's worth.
