Plumbing is my curse. I opted to visit the house after spending 3-4 hours in ikea and home depot - the leak got worse on its own. The valve twisting I did? Not helping matters; with the water turned on the flow was a near flow vs. a rapid drip. It must have gotten worse just before I got there, as the bucket was only half full (whew)! So, I took the valve line off the basement toilet, connected it to the old sink faucet valve, and jammed it into the drain. Problem solved, drip now runs down the drain (confirmed just in case). Yes, I put a used piece of toilet in the kitchen.

Was like a kid in the candy store in Ikea - Ikeasm or Ikeagasm? The fact it's full of hotties does not hurt - it's like baskin robbins of hipsters. I had the same experience in home depot; minus the hotties.

Things I learned:
Ikea seems to be the only place with cabinets on legs.
Slow-close drawers and cabinets are achieved with a snap-on $5 piece from Ikea - so much win!
Most Ikea sinks are not undermountable, and they make it hard to find that out. HD is very clear about top, under, dual mount.
Kitchen counters can be 3' when done.
Knobs are pretty, you can match knobs and handles, and they range $2-10 each.
Ikea double sink that can be undermounted: $400. HD: $200.
Ikea - holy shit the bathroom sinks they have, in fact holy shit everything they have. The variety of led lights makes me sput sput sput right there in the isle - I actually exclaimed in joy more than once.
HD has ductless head/ac systems. I could do A/C in the house with 2 systems.
HD has plastic tubs and walls - I could do a no-mildew-in-grout-ever tub-shower for $400 easy. A stand-alone shower insert, good quality, is about $500. I know people like tile; I like not-mildew in grout far more than pretty tile.
Interior door with frame <$100, metal $250 with frame, glass double patio $4-500, 36" is standard size, storm doors are $100-200.

I HAVE TO MAKE A PURCHASE BY THE 27TH TO GET THE 20% SALE AT IKEA OR WAIT ABOUT 6 MOS.

Ikea is the only place I know that has adjustable desks.

fix the leak as soon as possible.
You will be surprised how much money that drip can add up to in a few short weeks.

I need the entire plumbing done - it's costing me more (but thank you - that's right and it's not a good environmental issue).

IKEA is the devil

they have some cool things, but all the press-board crap infuriates me beyond speech.
most of their stuff is meant to be assembled in a one bedroom apartment by someone who doesn't own a toolbox.

Agree 100%, and I've learned that many of hte bargains do not stand studied comparison and scrutiny. But me and my ability to use alln wrenches still is compatible with them and their $9 coffee presses.

I'm happy to find an alternative source for the led light fixtures.

I loves me some IKEA. You can find unique pieces there and nowhere else. Quirky bits of furniture that will fit perfectly in spots nothing else will. The quality can vary, though. Some of it is as bad as Wallyworld granolaboard knockdown crap, but they have decent pieces too. The better pieces are not compromised much if at all by their made-to-assemble nature and won't fall apart if you try and move them. And I am happy to see them disclose what the items consist of. And meatballs!

It's also totally full of hotties. Also, hottie cute euro-themed items. And chocolate!
