I used to consider my weird hair a symbol of my independence, as if this made me better than mainstream society somehow. Now I make the same argument about my lack of skin ink. So me 20 years ago, what does funny looking hair say exactly besides look at me? What would it say today?

Since I shaved my head at 17, I have never been comfortable with hair that could be called 'normal'. My hair has made a few statements, no doubt, but the predominant one has always been 'this is how I want to look'. With the exceptions of the times I thought it had to look normal to get a job.

I still debate whether to dye my hair purpose since all I do is work for the government. I liked purple, but then again my hair was lighter and could be that way with just temporary dye.

Snicker...I should do dreds and then if they protest, file a discrimination claim!
