My eljay friends complain "eljay is dead" with surprising regularity. None seem happy with the alternative Facebook provides.
LJ is dead for the primary purpose most of our friends list used it for -- closed-circled social networking and tweet length posts. LJ is not dead if it is treated as what it is, which is a blog site. I suspect those of our friends using Fazebook who are dissatisfied are feeling this way because FB is a poor substitute for a dedicated blogging site which gives you the anonymity and space to speak more freely and more in depth than is possible on FB.
