Thanks to a post which I'd link but on eljay it's locked access, I found out that not only does facebook suck for being full of inane banter - they're also changing their privacy settings without telling anyone.

I am on the verge of deleting facebook entirely. As much as I'm public, if my coworkers OR THE LITIGANTS I FIGHT can search for my information on facebook I could face employment problems. Here at least I have a reasonable cover - facebook? It seems you can look up my employer down to the branch.

I'd say something there but facebook is banned from work.

Look at the age of that post. Private profiles are still currently private. At most you can see mutual friends and like five people on a private friend list. I made it so nobody can see my friends list and only some to see my relationship status.

Thanks - it was old.

Facebook, this week, DID just change some things in regards to privacy.

They are allowing your information to be sucked up by third party websites when you visit them if you are currently logged into Facebook at the time. They also allow your FRIENDS to share YOUR information if they are logged into Facebook. Just go adjust your settings in Privacy to not allow your info to be taken by third party websites (its enabled by default) and to limit what your friends are able to automatically share about you.

Thanks! I will do that too, wow. I also deleted all my personal information from facebook. I used to keep it up for old-school lookups, but I don't want any real way to track me on there.
