This is only an equivalent to a GS-15 - not the sort of position that comes and goes with varying administrations. I'm not _that_ important. Similarly, the timing as related to tax day isn't even up to the level of a coincidence. Our entire population is only 10,000 - not like the military or a group that really matters with regard to taxes.
You're dead on about the job though - my entire existence would be "incidentals."
