Failed again - recently I tried to watch 300, partly out of curiosity of the homophobe messages I heard so much about, and partially because I often like dumb macho movies. I thought I liked dumb, but I barely made it halfway through 300. I'd rather read Skymall again.

Turned on the tele tonight to relax, just relax, and saw the beginning of the fantastic 4 - 2, silver surfer. I didn't make it too far past the credits - it was dumb and odd looking - the guy was supposed to be plastic, so why does his betrothed look like a mannequin? Dumb I may be and enjoy, but it would seem not as dumb as mainstream media.

Yet I can watch Carpenter films...

I bought 300 because it was $3 the one terrible stupid day-after-Thanksgiving sale I tried to go to... and boy was I disappointed. But I still paid less for it than if I'd rented it. And Gerard Butler was so good in Beowulf & Grendel, that 300 was even worse in comparison.

The South Park parody and Azam Ali's voice on the soundtrack were the best parts of the whole 300 thing.
