In other lame news

1. My electric bill, since I haven't run the a/c, for the past 2 months has been about $25.
2. I filled up my tank and didn't believe it when my car reported per my math that I just got about 45 mpg in a non-hybrid car. Today I filled up to discover I got 38-39 mpg driving 65-75 avg for over 300 miles.
(hybrids only get about 50 mpg but cost about 25% more than my regular stick-shift civic ex)
3. I have suffered such bad losses with my RIMM gamble going down 18% that I might as well have left the ac and tv on 24/7, and filled my fuel efficient car with sand because I could have bought my honda all over again for the amount I lost in that RIMM job.

My midsize sedan manages to average about 30mpg at 70mph during my annual tour de flats (1300-ish miles), so I have no trouble believing a smaller car can do better. (OK, 45 seems really good. But 38-39? Perfectly plausible.)

Yeah I'm sure the 45 was a math error, big hill/TOD difference, or forgetting to hit the reset button.

my 19 yr old stick shift civic gets over 30mpg for the mixed city/highway driving i do. i'm sure i'd hit 40 on a purely highway road trip. i laugh when i see new cars getting less... my damn car is nearly an antique!

LOL
