I never did "get it" with Napoleon Dynamite. I saw it in an advance screening back when it first came out, and even then it just felt like it was trying way too hard to be an indie cult movie. You can't try for that, it just has to come. Well, or so I thought -- it seems like a lot of people bought right into it.
