I'm sore as hell and happy about it. I did a slightly hung-over workout with Ms.
sparklypoof and while I was training with my half-assed knowledge, I also took the opportunity to up my squat weight from 135 to 185 since I'm getting more confident with the movement and balance (which dropped my 3 sets of 10 to 10 at 135, 8 at 185, then 6 at 185). The giggles of the morning were the wtf questions on Jose's insane ab routine (64 isometric hold, 64 presses, 32 2-count, 64 1-count, 32 2-count, 64 presses, 64 iso hold, sob) (oh yeah all on a ball) (no resting!?), and the note that it was now 12:30..."You do this all every time?" Amanda though, she's one tough lil cookie! Said in person, but to reiterate: it's cool that she asked questions (not that I could answer them all), it's very cool that she listened, and she always tried and worked until exhaustion. That, and she has a goldfish koi on her butt.
You can, but should not, do poi with koi.
Also hte funny was noting warmup macho swinging arms for shoulders vs. shoulder rolls - when I saw a big guy looking at us, I took the opportunity to be obnoxious and note that you can do either move, but shoulder rolls look the most like they should be finished with jazz hands, which I demonstrated. Many times. Squat, grunt, jazz hands! Bench, strain, clunk, jazz hands! I also noted the big guy was doing reps with what I am trying to reach as a 1-time max weight, 225.
Later day was a food mishap followed by actual food and gobs and gobs of conversation with another rockin girl jock
bluvampr, and a trip to the Hirshorn which is 1/2 closed to fit in some new nifty stuff (so we have an excuse to go back).
But today...I'm tired, my back and legs are sore as I'm just working them back into my routine in new ways and trying to figure out a gain program that works for me. My scale and I had a fight, made up, and fought again so I know I need to make a change there (this 137, 133, 138 nonsense in 2 days is just bizarre, then she went all kilogram on me again) (bitch). I'm also a little throat-sore from all the talking! It's nice that I had such a social weekend and my week is also wall-to-wall social events, but I think I'ze a lil tired. Not done yet, just gleeful lil sore still going happy tired.
