Worthless post

Yesterday I rediscovered that running 5 miles slow does not make you any better at running 2 miles fast. Didn't stop, but my time was awful. Still, for me it was a good belly-losing workout on a day I didn't used to work out. I may have removed 500-1000 calories from my daily regiment based on cut-out foods and the increase in exercise. Since a lb is about 3500 calories, that nets me 1-2 lbs lost a week and I only really needed to kick 5. We'll see if my reality meets my math. Fattish or not, I'm in great shape so this is a good thing. When I'm healthy again, I'll eat more junk and continue the cycle :)

While stretching after my run, I saw our neighborhood chipmunks humping! You thought they were cute just running around and having a home by the door of your condo? Well they're even cutuer when they run and hump and play. I swear I saw them trading places...figures that I find the bisexual switching chipmunk couple. Squee!

Came in this AM and realized that the reason I've been cold at my desk the last few days is some bunghole took down the cardboard I put over the vent that blows right into my cube. 23 minutes later I have crafted another cardbaord vent blocker, and a series of schemes to continue the war if provoked again: 1) more cardboard, 2) roll paper into small sticks to get it inside the vent, then expand to block air flow (the vent is sealed), 3) crunch or yank off the source of the vent feed (this has the advantage of not being visually obvious, but I want my dissonance to show, hence this is #3).

See you at chronos this week - should be packed due to the holiday weekend. Hope they don't have something stupid planned - goth prom in chronos? Ugh.

I'll go anyway I guess. I have bad experience with girls that call themselves "cat" in any of it's forms - usually they are part-timers or complete dolts, often both. Her LJ to a non-friend view is 100% promotion. Don't remember a girl with ears that sticks out in my mind, vs. all the others. Like girls that call themselves cat, come to think of it.

Hey!? Grr...foot meet mouth. But not really...you seem to integral to the scene to me it didn't even occur. You're no "Kat."

What's that old story...
"Call me shadowcat!"
"I shall do no such thing. Your name is now 'Kelly.' "

And we do have 2 friends that really are named Kat & Cat, but they're not clubbing too much.

or "no law in the land can make me call you Steel Knight"

Yes we do. Huh, I guess when it's an "old cat" it just becomes a label, but when it is applied to a newcomer I assume they are an idiot. I used to um...DATE...a lot, and had some real laughs with, or at, "kats."

Being mean is a lot of work, so is generalizing. Need more boxes.

You probably already know this...but running slow helps endurance. If you want to get faster, focus on high intensity interval workouts.

I've read, though, that the slow and steady run/jog is actually better for calorie burning if that is what you are after. Don't know if it true or not! Really, running will burn calories regardless.
