Nov. 1st, 2006 10:33 amHalloweeny! Much fun was had, hurting is happening today but it's good hurty...it's went out and had fun and am now paying for it hurty.
The night was really nice - the crowd was poi-fect, filled the club and was great to look at, but wasn't obnoxious or too crowded. I didn't mind the sound everyone whined about, though it was loud in the back. We had one strange event...a roach in Jen's drink! It was just a baby roach, but wowza. I don't mind mentioning that as the club is closing, so I'm immune from drama accusations for complaining omg.
Ok a real complaint - the music just sucked. I mean, well, it didn't suck per se...like it didn't bother me, but I didn't once hear anything I wanted to dance too. Bleah on synthy whiny crap, beepy shit, and um...well whatever they played. Also bleah on the red-haired/wigged girl blabbing on the mike. I didn't hear a solitary spooky song, not old, not new, not a one. Bleah.
That was the first time we went there. We took a cab, who ran all the blood way up to catholic at insane breakneck speeds to the very wrong part of the road (based on where he knew queen's chapel from). I thought he might be beefing up the fare, but he charged us less than what was on the meter when we got there, so I threw good money at him for not charging us for his "wrong turn." I love the venue, but could imagine it would suck to part around there. Moot point now. Wish they'd go back to alchemy at black cat...that was nice, even if it is hard to drive to and park near the kitty.
We were worried that our costumes would be a bit too obscure or outdated, but we were assaulted with appreciation from all directions all night. The costumes were of course easy to throw on, which made the entire trip possible after 1.5 hours of wills and trusts. No make up...I highly recommend costumes that don't require make up, tugging, winches (wInches!), spirit gum, hurty shoes, or a script. My only regret is we didn't get a picture with the running pose. Perhaps next year we'll go as Akbar and Jeff in full naked frolic! Then again, next year I will have been out of school, and may well be super cut like Jen...so we might just focus on being a hot naked couple. Did I mention we've dated for about a year?

Akbar and Jeff!

See the resemblance?

We had animated charactery conspirators!
Remember this?

Well, now we've come full circle (from the tribal cafe halloween nuttiness, before the zombies arrived...mmm...brains...)

For some other noteworthy people:
This girl is very allowed to walk around naked (danced well too).

So is this guy:

This girl had the most awesome costume...really anyone could be in there, but something tells me she fits the "ok to walk around naked" rule. Irregardless, wow on the costume and major geek points.

We got a ride mostly home from some hot chick in a red sports bra. I was stuffed in the back with some hot black guy. We bailed in NW and caught an easy cab ride home. We were thinking that most of the black guys in the "scene" are gay, bi, crossdressers, or some mix thereof. Funny thing about black guys who crossdress - not so many of them, right? I was thinking, it's like a catholic midwestern university...where all 5 black guys are on the basketball team. Well, I think we see a high number of black guy crossdressers, but I suspect that all such people are "on our team" in the club scene. Speaking of, here is a picture of a Mamie which I'm going to put up at work to try and piss off my homophobe boss.
