Aug. 25th, 2006 08:12 amHoly shit work is fucked up. I'm all about the profanity lately. I just found out our old workplace violence chief is now our chief negotiator, my old bitch-boss is in charge of workplace violence, the guy who everyone says was banging the Labor chief is now bumped back down to ER...it's a major reshuffle of people. I feel far less crappy about being booted to Beltsville - it seems there may be some meat to the need to shift people around.
I noticed the other Sr. litigator here reads the paper on the clock every day. I've noticed neither Sr. litigator can type worth a damn. I'm hoping that when I am able to get up to speed that it will turn out the job is easy - and that my ability to write quickly will be yet another advantage. This job might be fun and I might be good at it...if only, if only, if only I can survive the travel issues while school is still in session. Homigod I want this job :(
My professional responsibility professor is a GS-15 in DOJ who both does MSPB/EEOC hearings (like me now), and is the ethics officer. I told him I, with my MA and law school, was beat out for the Ethics Officer job by a HS educated girl. Much giggling.
I'm writing about work a lot, but that's basically what's going on right now. I would love to bang a couple drinks and spin around a spooky club. I'd love to blow up some aliens. I'd love to hike. I'd love to hang out with my growing list of friends who want to hang out but have been neglected for a while. Well, I'm doing one thing - I got a tad fat and I'm inexplicably pissed that I can't bench 225 so I'm really putting effort in the gym. Lori was nice to me yesterday...I talked to her while she was on the treadmill, and she never once made fun of the fact that I had forgotten my white socks and had my black work socks on with my gym clothes.
