Apr. 20th, 2006 07:32 amThe commute is now, well a commute instead of a walk and a metro ride. I didn't realize that I was getting healthy downtime by walking alone and resting on the metro rail. Driving is more stressful. I'm finding I do like talk radio in the morning, listening to WETA, but doubt I'll last long on that kick. It's 40-45 minutes intstead of 30-35. It's a gallon of gas each way instead of free. However, there is Ikea and SFW nearby - making some things more convenient. Oh, does anyone know where I can find out the mileage on a route? I think I'd rather drive around the beltway and hop on the VA GW parkway than face 295 every day - prettier and less stress. It might be more miles, but how much more I want to see.
I've decided not to interview for the 14 job at the ... what is it, the Executive Office of the President? I want to learn this and do this first. It's further away from a GS 14, but it's a nonsupervisory 14 and it's as a litigator. Somehow I think it will be useful to have been an almost-lawyer in my lifetime. I'll become comfortable with depositions and hearings. Hell, in a few years, after law school, I could move back to MD and stay here. Who knows.
This is my last week of class and I'm exhausted. It's hard to maintain the drive to study for finals, the new job and running stress have taken their toll. A week after my last exam I start summer school.
My baby had curry-food for me when I got home, and made me go running with her last night when I just wanted to foomp after class. Thank spaghetti for that girl.
