Dec. 18th, 2005 03:14 pmI think I have more of my wits about me now, if not my sea legs.
Started off last night with Wendy's holiday party - once again everything was done in exquisite detail, like the interesting and exotic munchies that were individual labeled. The hostess got a wee tipsy, resulting in nearly obscene amusement. Can't think when I've seen Nadra blush...
From there we did a dash to the last cherryskool ever. That was happy and sad - everyone seemed to come out of the woodwork for the event, so it was a big reunion all night. It was a pretty hot crowd too, not just cute, but with a diverse array of types of people - oh how I'll miss that. The music was wonderfully all over the map - I got my last dance on despite the nearly overwhelming crowd.
For a couple of years that night has been the reward I would earn if I got my homework done early on the weekend. I have very little time due to law school, and I have had to be very selective about what I do with my sparse and unpredictable free time. Chiaro was perfect for me for most of my law school career, letting me show up unannounced and have a reliably good time. It was a fun atmosphere, more adult than other clubs I've been to with far less drama. There was a sense of class there, from the time spent on the decorations, to the constant monitoring of empties and ashtrays, to the rotating cast of artists that shared their wares in the lounge. I'm going to miss chiaroscuro.
