Oct. 17th, 2005 05:27 amIt's 5:30 AM and I have seen GOD.
Well, not exactly god.
First off, I didn't know that god existed until this morning. It's just that I gave up on rolling around pointlessly on my mattress and turned on the TV. Cartoon network was still playing adult swim. For no apparent reason, except that while pot isn't legal it's also not all that hard to score *cough*, they ran a sketch that was merely a video recording of the space ghost crew sitting around a table talking through an episode (the Conan O'Brien episode). They were a bunch of young-acting 30ish balding geeky men, one with no shirt on (not his most flattering angle). Space Ghost himself looked like a cross between
corwynj and my 8th grade geography teacher, only he sounded like Space Ghost. I saw god's well-worn baseball cap and glasses, his unhshaven face.
Those...are some funny men. It was so weird seeing them argue, laugh about jokes that didn't make it to hte final version, talk their way through how to annunciate each snarky line. I watched... I watched creation itself. I saw the fates weaving their cloth, god pulling the strings of the cosmos, saw the line "It isn't?" discussed and annunciated different ways. I saw an entire universe ebb and flow, one where the prhase "Isn't it?" was discussed and decided against. It was a world that sprung into existence, only to fade away as the idea didn't take hold. If I hadn't given up and rolled onto the couch, I might not know about the world...the world where "Isn't it?" was the response to "It's not like I have a cop show on FOX." I am the luckiest man on earth. Or, one of the luckiest of a widely distributed audience of about 10 thousand if you include people who passed out in a bucket of cheeze doodles.
