Sep. 27th, 2005 07:43 amYou have no idea how pissed off I am to not have been recruited for the Alchemy ho-cube dancers. I'm so tearing you down
eolh...that should be me on the cube! The really sad fact is I have heard of such things before. Buried in my sordid past was a girl that referred to herself as a "dancer" in a club. They got in free, and were scheduled to dance in the ho-cages above the dance floor in shifts. I shit you not. I guess the status of ho-cage-dancer and free entrant was all it took to inspire people to vaginize the crowd at random. I sure hope alchemy screens for appearance, but given the coordinator that doesn't seem likely.
I pulled a muscle in my neck last night in the gym - nothing serious, but I may need to chill for a bit. I'm also not sure if I'm getting sore throat from talking so much, sleeping with my mouth open, or if I'm fighting a cold. I feel great despite all that, and my mood is insanely high. I'm walking around smiling, even if I am likely to wind up in a jail, hospital, mental health facility, or morgue soon.
Party leader Frist embroiled in an ethics scandal, this one more clear than many others. He sold a ton of his family company's stock 2 weeks before releasing a profits warning. He says he sold it to avoid a conflict of interest, but he's been in office for how many years? What a lucky coincidence! I'm sure they'll just propose to change the rules again to fit this guy's crime. Ok, ok...it may not be a big deal - the plummet was only 15%, but the timing is hard to get away from. He could be a total moron, but 15% isn't really worth such a blatant easily tracked move. He could be stupid though, don't discount that possibility. Oh, but wait! The SEC is investigating because a whole bunch of the family business people sold stock in droves right before the announcement sent shares spiraling. You be the judge - because he'll never face one (See DeLay for reference).
Sordid details, minus the details.

Don Adams...the poor guy. He was very nice, but lamented taking the role that only lasted 4 years and left him type-casted for life. He was gracious about it, milking it a little here and there and being openly grateful that it paid tons of $ over time. He grabbed the part the instant he heard Mel Brooks wrote the script.

Date: 2005-09-27 12:45 pm (UTC)I recommend doing a feedster.com search for the key terms alchemy, dance, and team. You'll pull up a few LJ posts, the gist of which is that apparently this is actually happening, they've been practicing for roughly a month, and they plan on "performing" at the Alchemy Hallowe'en thing.
I'm just completely stunned by this "dance team" revelation. It has so much train wreck potential. It's on a par with Al Gore announcing that he's giving it all up to become a male stripper.
I'm actually considering skipping the Alchemy thing this year. If these kids will only be "performing" for five minutes or so, than I can just duck into the other room and ignore it. But if this is going to be a huge 45 minute scene-climbing extravaganza, then I have better places to spend my Hallowe'en.
I tend to hate dance team performances at clubs anyway, even when they're talented -- I'd simply rather dance myself than stand still and watch others. But this is such a farce -- my skin crawls just thinking about it.
