wait, I'm pointing out that the media/press was making this a much bigger "ooooh, security threat! Don't you even DARE think about marching without being screen first" deal, and you want me to find an article that state the contrary? Doesn't quite make sense. Maybe it was the Gov folks who fed that line to the media so that they could create a buzz, or maybe it was the media blowing things out of proporation - regardless, it *was* overblown.
I was there, it was laid back, there was a bag check area (like in any of the museums) but no metal detectors or cops walking around with dogs - I walked right past all the security with three huge black bags hanging over my shoulders without them doing anything but looking at my pass. There was media all over the walk route so the idea of keeping the press limited to a specific three areas wasn't true. And the report of there being "several hundred police officers on the scene"... well, there were cops, but that makes it sound like they were in riot gear ready to rumble. A couple hundred maybe - tops - but several? no way.

Country music, multiple mentions of Jesus and God, and Donald Rumsfeld - what a way to spend a Sunday afternoon. (I was only there because I was working, please don't think otherwise!) ;)
