Sep. 9th, 2005 10:22 amIf you don't have anything to say; eh, it's just LJ. Last night I went out for a short run after class - 2-3 miles depending on how you measure it, but I hauled the whole way. In the (relative) dark. I can jog that easy, but I friggin ran. I was so (gasp pant) proud of myself! It seems all the other stuff I'm doing is keeping me in shape for other activities. The weather is perfect...I think I may see if I can keep running over the winter w/o wussing out, having my kneecaps explode, or developing shin-splints.
What I just can't figure out is why 4 hours is supposed to be a good time to run a marathon. That's a little faster than running 10 minute miles, only for 4 hours. I ran that 2-3 miles pretty damn fast, but I could not do that for 4 hours. I guess it's something you work your way up to, but until I climb that mountain I'm going to look at marathon run times for normal people in awe. Those 2.5 hour runners are just freaks, ignore them.
