Unkempt, driven, insensitive jackasses are lousy dating material for women
You are really just a straight boy at heart, aren't you? "...for women" - it would seem the same could be said for guys dating guys and boys dating girls. Now, the issue I have with your statement: Unkempt, driven, insensitive jackasses = are all 4 of these qualities interlinked to make this person bad material? Is it any one of these characteristics independent of the others? Unkempt = no problem, someone who does not take care of themselves does not respect themselves and is unlikely to respect others. A lack of attention to cleanliness is an invitation to disaster, or at least gnarly STDs.
driven = we'll come back to this one.
insensitive = Someone who is solely focused on him/herself and takes no time to consider a partner's feelings is a lout. Someone who is incapable of empathy is to be pitied and avoided in intimate contact. Someone who just can't take time to think about it...bitch slap.
jackass = to a limited degree, I will quibble and say it depends on context. Someone who is over aggressive may be a jackass to you or me, but exactly what Shelly Sweetheart from Sweetwater High wants for getting her freak on. Outside of that consideration, jackasses are perhaps good for a weekend but bad for long duration.
Now back to driven. Was this just included because you are sometimes pissy about not being driven enough, or because you are still trying to find the "sweet spot" between driven and letting the rest of life pass you by? Is this a specific form of driven you take issue with, the driven that is monomaniacal and tends towards insensitivity and loutishness? I would hope that would be the case instead of an objection to "drive" as a function and "driven" as a characteristic.
