Stock market down 200 points in a day.

Former preacher former president Jimmy Carter notes that the US "doesn't give a damn about the poor." This is a guy who understands what the right wing is supposed to be about. In fact, it amazes me that people haven't repaired the ideological rift between what the republicans should be, hands off both fiscally and morally, where traditionally the democrats were the ones pushing big social and fiscal policies.

Boobie implants war rages on with FDA. You'll forgive me if a) I like small athletic builds, including the chest, b) I am sickened by cosmetic surgery rather than hours of suffering in the gym or exercising outside, c) I don't understand wanting something fake. While you're pursuing girls with fake boobs, how about a loveless marriage?

today is options expiration day

I heard about that - won't pretend I know what it means, but the Dow is about to dip back below 10k. Wowza.

Yeah, we are hitting those mental numbers that really propel the market downwards. This is where the wait and hold strategy falls apart. If you know that crossing 10K will end in the market heading down for a significant timeperiod, why not pull your money out - and put it back in at a cheaper cost basis?

I don't share your views - the market swings through mysterious forces. I still look more to financials, with only a touch of hocus-pocus thrown in. Perhaps voodoo would work better than my current string - but it seems in this market only shorting would be profitable.

I don't "know" that the market will go down. If I pull out, I just seal my losses.

hahah...mysterious forces. fair enough, I'll leave it at that. But the view of "If I pull out, I just seal my losses" is a very dangerous stance to take if you are trying to increase your savings.

Cut the losses, and put your money on the winners.

Odd thought I always had about breast implants: Everyone knows boobs are fun to play with for reasons beyond understanding, but fake ones feel odd and tend to look remarkably fake when completely bare. Though they do look great in bras and under shirts. The general reason women get implants is some absurd notion of confidence, as they supposedly become more attractive to the opposite sex. Since their counterpart in a realtionship is the one who would get to see/feel their breasts the most, they get the short end of the stick while complete strangers act out the benefits. Unless, of course, they're in it for the trophy girlfriend/wife.

Than again, I am rather biased towards the smaller ones.

keep in mind many of these are the same girls who are too mortified to be caught padding their bras- i guess the rationale is that if the fake is under skin, where it can't fall out, that's better.

I'm pretty biased towards smaller ones too. That whole grass is greener thing, I guess.

Irony noted.

Why mess with something people have been doing forever? Which came first loveless marriage or prostitution.
