vicarzHi, my name is José and I'm fucking up at work. I have no focus. I have flat out become grumpy. Not bad per se, not wallowing around unhappy - just damn likely to snap your head off if you come too close. My last day of class is 4/25, and I'm pretty on top of my work - but the stress of the last papers and impending doom exams is starting to catch up with me. I've also not been to the gym for over a week due to sickness, though my health has returned. I'm facing the "wtf am I doing in law school question" and just need to shove it out of my head. In fact I am juggling a lot of wtf am I doing questions, however well I'm doing in what field. The constant religious news is not helping my mood one iota. I am surrounded by FOX and his followers. I have heard an argument about the high rate of non-god folk in different european countries, and am annoyed I don't have transferable job skills. I don't know if I'd go, but it would be nicer knowing I could.

Date: 2005-04-01 03:50 pm (UTC)I have actually toyed with the idea of making an LJ entry that specifically states I'm going to X and X blah blah, or even says "I hope the president dies," but no matter how unrealistic it is or how funny it might be - I'm actually seriously concerned that the secret service would show up while the administration ruined my life.

In some countries that are reputedly highly secular, you would find that the government is secular in practice, but that the population behave as though everyone thinks like them. The difference between the US and Britain, Germany, Denmark, the netherlands, or France is that we constantly roll in our religious shit in the media. France...well...almost everyone I met is very definitely Catholic as are many of their values, but they aren't the public basis for their decisions. As for Britain...well hell...where do you think the Christian component of much of Goth comes from anyway?
Still...perhaps you wish to consider another language of fluency for your future investigations?
