Ate out with one of only two people I know from my undergrad years. I guess I'm old enough to get "Wow, you look great!" Well, I do - but I think that's an age-based comment, like "You look great for someone my age." She's still my same 'ol friend though - that's rather nice. I'm finding more and more people who settle down and have kids who don't change as people.

My friend was unhappy with both her weight since kid, and her hubby's weight. She explained how different it was after spawn. I rode the metro home, near a woman with 3 toddlers (one in a 'jogging stroller') who was rock-hard athletic.

Yeah, but Mrs. Rock-hard Athletic might have an army of nannies at home and a private gym. Who knows?

yeah no kidding.. it's easier when you're a stay at home mom or have a regular nanny/sitter. heheh. i will admit, though.. i've noticed a lot of couples on the trail where i walk every day pushing jogging strollers together with both their kids plopped inside. they aren't rock hard athletics but they're in shape and slender. that's more than i can say for me and i've got no children

I was gonna say - Ms. Athletic may be a stay at home mom with enough money to have a nanny.

Well - except that they were on the metro rather than toting around town in a lexus SUV. They didn't reek of wealth from my glance in their direction.

My friend wrote me today to say I had inspired her 'to get off her lazy butt' and work out. Hey - it's not my job to inspire! I'm just battling my personal insecurities :)

People who haven't seen me in a while are always telling me I look great. I take this as an implication that I must have looked like shit before...

I see lots of people with those strollers, I finally asked some of them what they were like BC (Before Children)and the group that I asked were exercising before the kids. I think that they just found a way to keep it up AC. Unfortunately, most people I know are too lazy to find ways to keep exercising, if they did it at all. I'm not saying that I'm not like most people either. I used to exercise alot, now I hate walking up the stairs to get to my apartment.
