At 2am I woke up to an isolated burst of thunder so loud I wondered if life as I knew it had changed. It hadn't.

I have to keep my dog tied up or he'll panic and force my door open in the middle of the night. Thunder is apparently scarier than me jumping up and stepping on him, or clubbing him with a flashlight before I notice that it's not some kind of psycho, just a freaked out pup.
