Germans do not understand the concept of not drinking! Beer is like Water to them!! They drink it because they are thirsty, not nessecarily to get drunk haha.. When we went over for Treffen (gods was it 4 or 5 years ago already!?!) Naima didnt drink, and these two guys were having the hardest time with that.. "you don't drink? no whisky then, you want a beer? No beer!?!??? what *do* you drink then??"

I had never drank any kind of soda until I after left Germany and went back to the states in 1978 (I was 12 years old when I had my first pepsi), but by age 5, I knew how to ask for a beer damn it!

(Of course my parents only let me have a little sip)

For us german folks - Beer=Life :-)
