Good god - no surprise here, but the US engaged in terrorist activities in Iraq - the exact type of which we now criticize as 'enemies of freedom!'

So, we train Osama Bin Laden, and what he does is heroic when aimed at the Soviet Union. When he turns against us, he's a terrorist.
We train Iraqi insurgents to bomb civilian targets, and it's in the name of freedom. When civilian and military targets are hit now during our occupation, it's by 'enemies of freedom.'
Wordsmithing isn't what it used to be.
