for all the tv i don't watch (as generally i only partake in films and hbo these days) i will not deny that tv- like music, film, art, and once in a while written word unites us. it's a common ground. an experience we are allowed to share. as fucked up as some people believe that is- it's a function that television provides. i remember watching television with my whole family as a child. today- i don't take any joy in current programming--- but if the Chipmunk Christmas Movie came on.... i'd probably call my sister. p.s.
